Kev was the most amazing husband, daddy, son, brother and friend. He was loved by everyone he met and always had a smile on his face and time for anyone.
Back on the evening of the 2nd July he started to feel ill out of nowhere with stomach pain and sickness, his condition worsened over the next few hours and not long after being admitted to A&E at Salford Royal they diagnosed him with acute necrotising pancreatitis which we later found out was caused by gallstones. This was the start of his 8 week battle in 3 different hospitals, his strength and determination to get better was awe inspiring, we’re all so unbelievably proud of the fight that he gave but the damage caused was too much and sadly we said goodbye to him on Sunday 29th August at 2:30pm when he was just 44 years of age.
His death has left a hole that will never be filled but I’ve vowed to make him proud and carry on his legacy both with his girls, me and Aidan and with fundraising for Guts UK charity who carry out vital research into terrible diseases like pancreatitis.
Even if we can help just one other family not have to suffer the loss, trauma and heartache that we have over the past couple of months from this common but rarely known illness that can strike anyone at any time.
